Chop or mitre saw
Kreg Pocket Hole Jig (with drill bit & screw bit; clamp needed for cheaper models)

Tip: Buy in person to hand-pick straight boards (avoid warped lumber).

With collapsible hinges:
(12) 2.5” Kreg pocket hole screws
(8) 1.25” #8 wood screws

(2) 2x2 @ 18”
Steps
1. Build the Base
Drill 2 pocket holes into each end of the 18” pieces (8 holes total).
Apply wood glue to the ends of both 18” pieces.
Form a rectangle: position the 18” pieces between the 26” pieces.
Drive pocket screws through the pocket holes into the 26” pieces (clamp or hold securely).
2. Build the Upright Portion
Drill 2 pocket holes into each end of the remaining 26” piece (4 holes total).
(Only if NOT using collapsible hinges) Drill 2 pocket holes into one end of each 60” piece (4 holes total).
Apply wood glue to each end of the 26” piece.
Lay the 60” posts flat, pocket holes at the bottom.
Position the 26” piece between the posts (pocket holes facing down when upright).
Drive pocket screws through the 26” piece into the 60” posts.
3. Attach the Top to the Base
If NOT using collapsible hinges:
Apply glue to bottoms of the 60” posts.
Position posts at the centers of the 18” base pieces.
Drive pocket screws into the base.
If using collapsible hinges:
Position posts at the centers of the 18” base pieces.
Place hinge and mark screw holes.
Drill pilot holes (⅛” drill bit).
Attach hinges with screws using a Philips bit or screwdriver.
